News: Laurent Ferrier Galet Square Vintage America I

Everyone loves a good complication or two, but every now and then, it’s nice just to be able to admire a watch for how good it looks. Laurent Ferrier’s lengthily named Galet Square ‘Vintage America I’ is one of those kind of watches. The piece was exclusively designed for and in collaboration with Chicago Retailer Swiss Fine Timing, and is a limited edition of just ten pieces. But most importantly of all, it features a mesmerisingly beautiful dial that really demands attention.

The watch’s sector dial has a gloriously two-tone appearance, with the outer circle featuring a circular satin-brushed effect, and the inner section contrasting with a vertical satin-brushed finish. Black nickel gold Arabic numerals are located at 3, 9 and 12, while a snailed subdial sits neatly at the base of the dial where 6 o’clock would usually be.

The cushion shaped case has lugs that were specifically designed for this piece, and which feature a side decoration of a Swiss cross—while the crown has a perfectly complementary ball shape. The whole design evokes a refined and vintage feeling, reminiscent of pieces from the 1930s and ‘40s.
